Mazatlán is a city in the southwestern part of Mexico, along the Pacific coast, which serves as the seat for the Mazatlán Municipality in the state of Sinaloa, Mexico. Mazatlán was established in 1531 and began receiving immigrants in the mid-nineteenth century. The city has since grown and developed into a stunning tourist destination, a thriving commercial port, and a vibrant entertainment spot. Mazatlán is currently the second-largest city in Mexico.
The city is home to many magnificent beaches, crowned with numerous resorts and beach houses as well as the biggest fishing activity in the region. One of the most outstanding features in Mazatlán is its boardwalk that is twenty-one kilometers long, beautifully overlooking the beautiful beaches and the blue waters of the ocean.
Numerous water activities like fishing, kayaking, snorkeling, among others are common in the offshore regions around the famous Isla de Pajaros, Isla de Venados, and Isla de Lobos. Even more, vibrant water sports like skiing and surfing are at the mainland on Playa Sabalo, Playa Gaviotas, and Playa Olas Atlas. Visitors that desire a good time visit the famous Zona Dorada District for a memorable and very vibrant nightlife in Mazatlán.
For the lovers of sightseeing and photography, the most scenic views of Mazatlán are achieved from atop the El Faro lighthouse, set up on the one hundred and fifty meter-high Cerro Del Creston.

When to visit Mazatlán

Mazatlán experiences a tropical savanna climate with some of its features closely bordering the semi-arid climate. The weather is characterized by a moderately stable daily mean temperature difference across the year. Summers are hot and sweltering and record very high humidity levels. It is also during summer that Mazatlán records the highest amount of precipitation for the entire year.
There is one long and dry season in Mazatlán that runs from November to June, an extremely wet season that runs from July to September, and a mildly dry period experienced in October, just after the heavy rains.
During winter, from December to February, the days are mildly cold and pleasant, and the temperature reads the range of 19.5°C (67.1°F) and 20.8°C (69.4°F). At night, the temperature drops to the range of 11.5°C (52.7°F) and 12.5°C (54.5°F). The difference is minimal, but it may feel colder than registered at night because of the cold winds passing through. Rainfall during winter is moderately low, with an average of 16.3mm (0.6") across an average of two rainfall days per month.
Summer runs from July to September, and its weather features sweltering temperature ranges and high humidity recordings.
